We want our kitchens to be very functional.  However, with more families spending most of their time in the kitchen and family rooms we are looking for comfort and style.  Our kitchens are making more of a statement today and in the case of selling  a home can make or break the sale.

Whether your style is casual, country, contemporary or traditional, your style can be brought out in the accessories you use to highlight the best features in your kitchen.

If you have a beautiful eat in nook with a wonderful window then you might want to use accent paint in the nook and hang some coordinating window panels to highlight the window. Don’t be afraid to add a beautiful mirror if you have the wall space to open up the look. Add an interesting chandelier based upon your style and you have created a beautiful space in the kitchen to enjoy your meals with family and friends.

A large center island in a kitchen is considered a valuable asset.  So. don’t clutter it up. Do add interest by accessorizing one side with an interesting tray that has a grouping of some of your favorite accessories. Ysou can add style with interesting bar or counter stools.

Window treatments should pick up the color scheme you have on the walls, furniture and flooring.  Adding a colorful backsplash can be an inexpensive upgrade to make the kitchen look fresh and colorful.

Remember, the kitchen is number one on the list when people consider buying your home. So improvements to the countertops, appliances and flooring  usually bring a good return on your investment. There are many venues that offer exceptional pricing on both product and support. Upgrades don’t need to happen all together. There isn’t much fun in upgrading just to sell.  So make improvements when you can and most importantly enjoy them!
